Worried about a recession?

I’ll admit, I’ve allowed myself to worry about it sometimes.

And worry isn’t very fun.

But worry can also be our friend. Like an alarm clock to wake us up and think strategic for a moment.

Because here’s the thing:

A slow period can be a perfect time to reinvest in our businesses.

When things slow down, we business owners have time and more importantly the energy to focus on something that really does challenge us to focus and finish. Because that does take energy.

And now we have new energy. Energy to focus ON our business because we’re not as much IN our business.

It can be a golden opportunity to step back and assess what’s working and what isn’t.

And usually near the top of that list can be a brand refresh. Updating your messaging and visuals in a way that gives you energy to get out there and put yourself out there again with active marketing.

It’s a different mode, and it has it’s time and place.

The good news is, you CAN be seen with new eyes. And now, a brand refresh doesn’t have to take as much energy from you as you’ve no doubt experienced in your 5+ years, working professionally as an interior designer.

I’ll wrap it up with this: Question: how could you level up during a recession?

Yian Q

Since 2015, I have helped over 100 interior designers, builders, builders, and architects – from those just starting out to award-winning designers published in Architectural Digest, Luxe, and more.

My process starts with what is already true within you, then brings it to life in a way that resonates with your ideal clients.

I work with designers because they’re awesome. I’m a member of IDS (Interior Design Society) and served on the board of the Virtual Chapter. Design events I’ve attended include High Point, Vegas Market, and BOLD Summit (Business of Luxury Design).

When I’m not creating brands and websites, you can find me listening to audiobooks and going on long speed walks with friends.

I’m from Seattle and now live in New York City with my wife, Gaby.
