Website Process

1. Pre-Project

You will send me any necessary content, including photos of your work. I will send you a questionnaire to complete regarding your design business and your needs and preferences for your new website. 

2. Website Planning

We will have a website planning call (project kick-off call) to formulate how to present your business. We will choose a starting template and discuss aspects such as tone, portfolio layout, fonts, colors, etc.

3. Website build

I will create a website initial build based on the direction established in our website planning session. I’m able to build quite nimbly on Squarespace, so we can easily tweak and change details as needed in the revisions phase.

4. Website content

We now turn to the content of your new website. I may send you questions and prompts to establish key ideas and messaging. Note that I will be generous with copyediting and suggestions to ensure the copy sits well on the website.

5. Website revisions

At this point, your new website is designed and has all its essential content in place. We will go through the website together, and I will listen carefully to your feedback. This is also a time for you to sit with the website. Then, I will make revisions as needed to ensure it reflects your brand and business. Three rounds of revisions are included in this website package.

6. Website optimization & launch

In preparation for launch, I will make your website search engine friendly by tagging pages based on your location and nearby cities/towns. Then, I will make final configurations on the back end to make your new website live to the world. I will send you a reference sheet summarizing what I’ve done, where to locate important registration details for your website, and how you can hire me moving forward for support.

7. Website announcement

I will create 3 graphics you can use to announce your website on social media. You will have a choice from over 100 visual backgrounds, shown here: https://theartofyou.co/graphics

8. Project finish

The project will be considered finished once the above project scope has been fulfilled and the site is made live online. At this point, I will invite you to hop on the phone for a closing session, in which we set the stage for the next phase of our working relationship: website updates.

9. Website updates

After the launch of your new website, I will be available to help you keep your website up-to-date. This website package includes unlimited support for the first 30 days after launch. Afterward, as your business evolves, consider me a resource to help you keep your website polished and up-to-date. I offer this service simply by the hour so you only pay for what you need.
